BlocPower is a clean energy startup that provides engineering, financing, and project implementation services for green building retrofits that save money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve health and create local employment opportunities in low-to-moderate income communities.

Thousands of houses of worship, schools, non-profits, small businesses, and multifamily buildings across the country are not being served by traditional energy services companies because they are considered: too small, too costly, or too risky to serve. BlocPower’s platform provides financing and engineering services that reduce the barriers between these building owners and money-saving, quality-of-life-improving building retrofits

If you are as passionate as we are about sustainability, building performance, and social justice and want to tell BlocPower’s story across channels and audiences, we need to connect!

The Role

As our sole dedicated marketer, you will work across our business development, enterprise partnerships, product, engineering, finance, and operations teams to execute BlocPower’s marketing strategy and position our products and brand for various audiences including potential customers, partners, and fans.

We are looking for a resourceful, creative full-stack marketer to ramp up marketing efforts across the board. You will develop and execute recurring and ad hoc marketing campaigns, develop our content, actively manage our website and social media presence, and take on special projects in response to organizational needs.

This is a full-time role preferably based in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

1. Campaign Development & Execution

Develop and execute marketing campaigns targeted at our core customers - building owners, as well as fans and corporate/government partners.  Campaign strategies will include digital channels (paid ads on search and social media, SEO, email marketing, website) and on-the-ground local outreach channels including community partnerships and local media. Leverage our earned media presence (podcasts, national news coverage) to generate more building owner leads. Track and analyze campaign performance, and optimize conversion and performance metrics in alignment with company-level growth goals.

2. Content Development

Generate successful digital marketing content (blog, social media), as measured by engagement metrics (e.g. traffic, search performance, pageviews, sessions, users, lead conversion, etc.). You will develop our content strategy around core storytelling and brand deliverables from best-in-class contractors and vendors.

3. Sales Enablement

Update physical and digital assets (presentations, collateral, website) and engage deeply with customer persona work to help close deals. Build a system for generating case studies and leverage our technology and community networks to showcase completed projects to new leads.

4. Cross-Functional Project Management

Coordinate and project manage outside contractors, vendors (brand, messaging, media, PR), and interns to deliver on time and on budget. Work closely with our Growth Product Management and Business Development Leads to drive and execute marketing strategy.
